DALLAS (SMU) – SMU ended day three on Sunday after dominating the first two days of action at the SMU Tennis Complex, where they hosted the SMU Red and Blue Challenge, winning eight of their nine doubles matches and 10 of the 12 singles matches on Friday and Saturday.

"We competed really well the first two days of the tournament," head coach Jeff Nevolo said. "It was great to go 8-1 overall in doubles and to get all six wins in singles Saturday."

The Mustangs swept two of the six doubles matches on Saturday when Katherine Jakeway/Tiffany Hollebeck and Jackie Nylander/Isabella Tcherkes Zade defeated their opponents 6-0. Nicole Petchey was dominate in her performance as well, taking down her ACU competitor 6-0, 6-0.

"Katherine and Tiffany did a great job stepping up late in sets during their matches and Nicole keeps improving every match," Nevolo said. "Day three tomorrow means playing in singles against a tough UT Arlington team. Our staff is encouraged with the team's improvement over the last three weekends of competition."

Facing UTA in singles on Sunday, Jackie Nylander and Tiffany Hollebeck secured wins for the Mustangs to wrap up the weekend action.
