SMU Track & Field begins the 2019-20 season with the Boston University Season Opener as senior Hannah Miller competes in the 5000 meter on Saturday.
Miller will be the lone Mustang competing in Boston Unversity's Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener on Saturday. The one-day event begins at 12 pm CT from the BU Track & Tennis Center. Miller's race will take off around 3:40 pm CT and be stream on FloTrack ($).Â
Â
Hannah Miller enters her senior season as one of the most decorated distances athletes at SMU. Miller holds one Indoor school record (3000m) and sits first or second in three indoor events in the school record book. Her best 5000m time came in 2017 when she ran a 16:16.84 during her freshman season at the AAC Championship. Last season, Miller earned All-Conference status in five different events including three during the indoor season. Miller was conference champion in the Outdoor 5000 and advanced to the NCAA West Region in the 10,000 meters.
Â
The BU Season opener is one of 9 events on Indoor slate for the Mustangs. After the Holiday break, the Mustangs will travel to Houston for the Leonard Hilton Invitation on January 17, hosted by the University of Houston. After another trip to Houston (G5 & MidMajor Invite – Jan. 32-Feb. 1), the Mustangs will head to Notre Dame for the Meyo Invite (Feb. 7-8). The next weekend will see the Mustangs split between two events, New Mexico's Kirby Invite (Feb. 13-14) and Vanderbilt's Music City Challenge (Feb. 14-15). The final indoor regular season meet will be Washington's aptly named Last Chance College Elite Meet. The AAC Indoor Championships will return to Birmingham (Feb. 28-29) while the NCAA Indoor Championships are slated for Albuquerque, New Mexico (Mar 13-14).Â
