Dunne Finishes Tied For 11th At Icon Invitational

THE WOODLANDS, Texas (SMU)
– SMU women's golf senior Brigitte Dunne led the Mustangs on the final day of the Icon Invitational, finishing tied for 11th at 3-over par with a total score of 219.   

On the final day of the tournament, the Mustangs played the remaining three holes of the second round before starting the final round. The Mustangs finished in 11th for the tournament, with a total score of 903 at 39-over par. The Ponies jumped to 7th midway through the final round but would fall back to 11th in the end.

"We played some really good golf today," said head coach Jeanne Sutherland. "We had some good signs of what is possible for this team we just have to finish it off now."

Kennedy Pedigo played the second and third round at even par to finish at 9-over and in a share of 37th place.

Ana Paula Ramirez had a 3-over round to finish with a share of 43rd place (+10).

Lauren Chappell carded 3-over for the round for a 20-over par finish and tied for 72nd.

Faith Summers rounded out the team carding two birdies in the round to finish 21-over par with a share of 77th place.

Competing individually, Serena Shah played her best round carding three birdies for a 1-over finish. Shah finished 15-over par for the event with a share of 57th place.

Sophie DiGesualdo, the other individual competitor for the Mustangs, improved by two strokes each round and finished 21-over par and tied for 74th.

Host, No. 33 Houston, won the tournament at 8-over par. Alice Hewson of Clemson claimed the individual title at 9-under par.

The Red and Blue are back in action when they travel to Oahu, Hawaii for the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational March 12 and 13.
