INDIANAPOLIS (SMU) – Freshman
Parker Hardigree kept the streak alive for the Mustangs, winning three meter on night one of the American Athletic Conference Championships. The four-day event is being held at the IUPUI Natatorium in Indianapolis.
SMU has won every three-meter event contested at the Championships since the conference's inception in 2014. Hardigree added to the total with a career-best and NCAA Zone qualifying score of 337.35.
The Mustangs opened the evening with a podium finish in the 800-yard freestyle relay.
Matan Segal,
Carson Klein,
Matthew Nutter and
Lucas Schenke combined for a season-best 6:29.15, good for third place. The night ended with a runner-up finish in the 200-yard medley relay as
Trey Kilbride,
Aedan Lewis,
Simon Golczyk and
Ralph Koo touched in a season-best 1:27.07.
The Championships resume for day two action on Thursday with the 500-yard freestyle, 200-yard individual medley, 50-yard freestyle, 200-yard freestyle relay and one meter. Visit The American's
