NASHVILLE, Tenn. (SMU) –
Hannah Miller set a school record in the 3000m as the Mustangs completed competition at the Music City Challenge.
Miller came into the event already holding the school's best mark in the 3000m at 9:26.62. The junior ran a blistering 9:21.44 to win the event and improve on her school record. Miller's time is the best in conference this season.
Svenja Ojstersek finished not far behind Miller with a 9:28.03, a personal best and the second fastest mark in program history.
Anneke Grogan ran a 10:03.96 in the event, a mark made even more impressive by the fact that Grogan ran a 17:26 in the 5000m less than 24 hours prior.
Senior
Robin Montemayor set a pair of PRs over the weekend in both the 5000m and the mile. Montemayor ran a 18:03.72 in the 5000m on Friday before running a 5:17.88 in Saturday's mile. An additional PR was achieved by freshman
Olivia Lackner, who improved her best time in the 5000m by 17 seconds running a 18:23.62.
Kennedy Godsey also had a PR for her performance in the weight throw. In the 60m,
Alexis Center and
Jordanae Scott had strong showings just missing qualifying for the finals. Freshman
Olivia Witt improved upon her best time in the 60m hurdles by running a 9.75.
Up next, the Mustangs will have a one-weekend break before they head to Birmingham for the American Conference Indoor Track & Field Championship.
