ORLANDO, Fla. (SMU) – The No. 46 SMU women's tennis team fell 6-1 to No. 28 UCF at the USTA National Campus Wednesday afternoon.
Sophomore 
Nicole Petchey secured the lone point for the Mustangs, winning in straight sets at No. 4 singles. In her first appearance at the No. 4 position this season, Petchey defeated Marie Mattel 7-5, 6-2.
Senior 
Karina Traxler and freshman 
Katherine Jakeway each forced third-set super tiebreaks on Courts 5 and 6, respectively, but ultimately lost.
The Knights, who boast top-100 players at No. 1 and 2 singles, won their 12th straight match to improve to 14-2 this season, while the Mustangs fell to 5-9.
SMU is back in action on Friday, March 22 with a home match against Dartmouth at noon. The Mustangs then host a doubleheader against Northwestern State (11 a.m.) and Abilene Christian (4:30 p.m.) on Sunday, March 24.
