Final Results
TUCSON, Ariz. (SMU) -- The SMU women's golf team played a 5-over round to finish tenth at the Mountain View Collegiate on Sunday afternoon.Â
The Mustangs concluded the tournament at 7-over par with a total score of 871.
"We got off to a really rough start today," said head coach
Jeanne Sutherland. "We fought back and played a goof back nine, so I was happy with that."Â
"We have to be more consistent being able to compete from the first shot to the last shot and that's what we will work on going into the Bruzzy."
Sophomore
Lauren Chappell and senior
Brigitte Dunne led the Mustangs finishing 1-over par for the tournament with a share of 24th place. Dunne carded an eagle in the back nine to finish with a score of 217 (+1).
Sophomore
Kennedy Pedigo played her third round on par to finish 222 at 6-over.Â
Rounding out the team were juniors
Faith Summers and
Ana Paula Ramirez. Ramirez carded a two-over par round and a 7-over finish for the tournament at T49. Summers finished eight strokes over par and a total score of 224.
Competing individually, redshirt freshmamÂ
Sophie DiGesualdo, birdied her first two holes of the day as well as the final one, to finish alongside Summers with a share of 52nd place at 8-over par.
Iowa State took the team title with a 28-under par finish and a total score of 836. Polly Mac, or UNLV, was the individual leader finishing 10-under par and a score of 206.Â
The Red and Blue are back in action when they to play at the Bruzzy Challenge April 1-2.Â
