SAN MARCOS, Texas –
Chelsea Francis highlighted the Mustang weekend with two conference-leading times as the Mustang contingent competed at the Bobcat Classic.
Francis, already with NCAA qualifying marks in the 100 and 200 meter, looked to improve upon both times on Saturday. Francis started off the day with a 11.23 in the 100 meter, .01 off her career best. The time distance herself from the next closest time in the American Athletic Conference. It was also the 11
th fastest time in the NCAA this season.
The junior then set a personal record in the 200 meter with a time of 22.99. This mark moved her to the top of the conference, giving her two top times heading into the conference championships. Francis also now has top-20 national times in the two events.
Anneke Grogan improved her career best time in the steeplechase. Running in the lone Mustang track event of Friday, the senior ran an 10:50.98, better than her already top-10 SMU time.
Heptathlete
Olivia Witt competed in the 100 hurdles, high jump and javelin in San Marcos and set her best time in the hurdles with a 15.97 mark.

Kennedy Godsey had her best career mark in the shot put, throwing a distance of 13.45.
Dareth Douglass also had a best mark in a throwing event with a 44.47 in the hammer.
Sophomore hurdler
Jacy Sparks clocked a personal record for the Mustangs with a 1:03.62 in the 400 hurdles, an improvement of more than a second.
Next on the schedule for the Mustangs is the American Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The 2019 edition will be hosted by Wichita State beginning May 10.
