DALLAS (SMU) -- SMU Women's Tennis defeated UTA, 6-1, in the final home match for the Mustangs' five seniors on Friday at the SMU Tennis Complex.

The Mustangs started the match with a victory in the doubles point. Buss and Kulicke were quick winners with a 6-2 victory on No. 1.
Sarai Monarrez Yesaki and Shapovalova clinched the point with their 6-3 win. On No 3. Traxler and
Tiffany Hollebeck were up 5-2 at the time of clinch.
SMU stayed hot into the singles. They won each of the first five sets after UTA took court three after a withdrawal. Kulicke made quick work of her opponent on No. 2, winning 6-3, 6-3. The lone non-senior in the singles lineup, Hollebeck, was a 6-4, 6-3 winner of No. 6.
The clinching point came from Traxler in her 6-2, 6-3 win on court five.
Ana Perez-Lopez dropped a tiebreaker in the second set which sent her match into a super tiebreaker for the point. The longest-tenured Mustangs won the third, 10-5. Buss won a pair of lengthy sets to take her final Mustang home match and wrap up the 6-1 SMU victory.
SMU moves to 8-11 on the year including a 7-3 final mark at home. UTA falls to 12-7. SMU leads the all-time series with the Mavericks 11-4.
The Mustangs conclude the regular season on Wednesday against North Texas before travelling to Orlando for the American Conference Tennis Championship.
