NORMAN, Okla. – Senior
Brigitte Dunne concluded her career as a Mustang at the NCAA Regional on Wednesday afternoon.
Dunne went into the day at 3-over and carded three birdies on the round for a 2-over finish (72-75-71–218) and a share of 27th place.
"Brigitte played some good golf today," said head coach
Jeanne Sutherland. "I'm really proud of B for a great four years at SMU. It was really fun to coach her today and for the last four years."
Dunne wraps up her career on the Hilltop as the all-time leader with 359 career birdies. She also had the third best season scoring average of 73.03 in the last 26 years at SMU. The senior had 33 counting scores this season, which is tied for first and the first time since Lindsey McCurdy in 2016-17.
"I wish her well as she plays professionally," said Sutherland.
No. 2 Texas maintained the lead in the final round with a 9-under finish (855). The Longhorns along with Florida, Wake Forest Purdue Arizona State and Ole Miss are all advancing to the NCAA Championship.
The three individuals advancing to the championship are Kaitlin Milligan (Oklahoma), Michaela Fletcher (Memphis) and Amanda Hollandsworth (Virginia Tech).
