RESULTS TN RESULTS NM FRIDAY RECAP
NASHVILLE, Tenn. / ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (SMU) – SMU wrapped up weekend competition at the Music City Challenge and the Don Kirby Invite on Saturday.
The Mustangs sent four distance runners to Nashville to compete in the Music City Challenge.
Hannah Miller ran a 16:18.43 5000m to finish in sixth in among the elite field, within striking distance of her SMU record-setting time earlier this season.
Olivia Lackner posed a 18:16.67 in the earlier heat.
On Saturday, freshman
Eve Hoeltgen ran a 5:51.38 in the mile, just off her personal record. Fellow freshman
Maddie Hulcy ran a 10:15.71 in the 3000m to place in 38
th, improving her PR by 15 seconds.
At the final day of the Don Kirby Invite on Friday,
Atipa Mabonga placed 12
th in the triple jump with a top distance of 12.21m. Her best mark of 12.38 earlier this season is fifth in the conference.
Jordanae Scott narrowly missed with the finals in the 60m, clocking a time of 7.70.
Jacy Sparks led the Mustangs in the 60 H posting her second PR of the weekend with a 9.13, placing in 28
th in the qualifying.
Olivia Witt ran a 9.35, also a personal record,
Olivia Dobson posted a 9.41 and
Sharone' Johnson registered a 9.95. They placed in 34
th, 37
th, and 46
th respectively.
SMU's 4x400 team of
Annette Bolomboy,
Whitney Williams,
Ashton Woods and Sparks placed in seventh with a time of 3:44.95. The team of Johnson, Scott, Witt and Dobson finished in 4:06.41.
Next weekend, the Mustangs head to the Pacific Northwest for the Last Chance College Elite Meet hosted by Washington. The one day event is set for Friday, Feb. 21.
