DALLAS (SMU) – SMU women's golf unveiled its 2021 spring schedule Tuesday, which starts with the Trinity Forest Invitational Feb. 1-2 among a slate of top events.
 
For the fifth consecutive year, the Mustangs host the Trinity Forest Invitational at their home course, Trinity Forest Golf Club, February 1-2. The event is slated to host a strong 14-team field.
 
The Mustangs then head to Spanish Trail Country Club in Las Vegas to compete in the Rebel Beach, hosted by UNLV and Long Beach State, February 15-16. SMU then heads to the Icon Invitational, hosted by Houston at the Golf Club of Houston in Humble, Texas, the former host of the PGA Tour's Houston Open. It is one of three courses on the schedule, joining Trinity Forest Golf Club and English Turn Golf and Country Club, that has hosted a professional tour event in its history.
 
SMU begins March at the Maryb S. Kauth Invitational, hosted by UTSA at San Antonio Country Club, March 9-10. The Mustangs return to the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate, March 14-15, hosted by Tulane at English Turn Golf and Country Club in New Orleans, Louisiana. In 2020, SMU's Serena Shah had a breakout performance for at the event, tying for third place at 5-under par, her career-best 54-hole score and tournament finish.
 
The final events of the regular season take place in Texas, as the Mustangs go to Lantana Golf Club in Argyle for The Bruzzy, hosted by North Texas, March 28-29. The final tune-up for championship season is April 12-13 at the Houston Oaks Women's Intercollegiate, hosted by Baylor in Hockley, Texas.
 
The American Athletic Conference Championship takes place April 18-20 in Pinehurst, North Carolina at the No. 6 Course at the famed Pinehurst Resort. NCAA Regionals take place May 10-12 at four predetermined sites. The NCAA Championships take place at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz. from May 21-26.
