CARLSBAD, Calif. (SMU) – SMU women's golf moved up into a tie for sixth place after two rounds of the NCAA Golf Championship from Omni La Costa Resort.
 
Taking off in the morning round with the other top 15 teams, the Mustangs came into the day in a tie for eighth. The team shot a one-over in round two to go along with even par in round one.  Each Mustang has played all two rounds at 74 or lower. The field will be cut to 15 from 30 at the end of the day Sunday. That will be followed by an eight team cut at the end of round four on Monday. The top eight teams will make the match play quarterfinals.

Mackenzie Lee led the way with a 70 in round two, the 91^st round of par or better for her career, far and away a program record.  She bogeyed just two times on the day. Lee lowered her career scoring average down to 71.47, also tops at SMU. She sits in a tie for 16^th.
 
Kirra St-Laurent sits two shots back of Lee at even par. She carded a round of 73 on Saturday. She holds a share of 27^th among the 159 player field. Celine Chen occupies 38^th at one-over par. She shot a 73 as well on Saturday. Chen was even par in round one.
 
Grace Jin holds a share of 64^th alongside Emily Odwin. Jin shot a 73 on Saturday with an impressive 33 on her first nine holes. Odwin carded a 74 on the day.
 
The Mustangs return to the course for round three on Sunday, needing a spot in the top 15 to advance to Monday.
