IRVING, Texas (The American/SMU) – Mustang men's and women's swimming and diving swept American Athletic Conference weekly honors, league officials announced Tuesday.

On the men's side, Colin Feehery was named Swimmer of the Week and Dominic Hoefer Diver of the Week, and the women were represented by Swimmer of the Week Gabi Grobler and Diver of the Week Johanna Holloway.

This is the second honor for Grobler on the young season, while Feehery, Hoefer and Holloway picked up their first nods of 2021-22.

Feehery helped lead Mustang swimmers to a 2-1 dual-meet weekend, winning four individual events and posting three NCAA B cuts.

Against TCU, Feehery won the 100- and 200-yard breaststrokes, as well as the 200-yard individual medley. The breaststroke marks were under the NCAA standard. In the double-dual win over Oklahoma Christian and UIW, the junior won the 400-yard individual medley with an NCAA B Cut. He also helped SMU to a win in the 200-yard medley relay on Saturday.

On the diving side, Hoefer registered an event win, two runner-up performances and came in above the NCAA Zone qualifying mark in all four events competed on the weekend.

Hoefer won 1 meter against OC and UIW, while finishing second on 3 meter, and was the runner-up on 1 meter against TCU.

The women defeated TCU in a dual meet over the weekend behind the efforts of Grobler and Holloway.

Grobler won the 200-yard backstroke and 200-yard individual medley against the Horned Frogs and placed second in the 100-yard backstroke. She also helped the Mustangs to a runner-up finish in the 200-yard medley relay.

Holloway led the field on 3 meter and finished second on 1 meter, posting NCAA Zone scores in both events.

This is the third career honor for both Grobler and Holloway.

The Mustang women are back in action Friday when they host New Mexico State at 5 p.m., while the men return to the pool Nov. 18-20 for the SMU Invite.
