GREENWOOD, Ind. (CSC/SMU) – College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced on Tuesday that four members of the SMU men's swimming & diving program have been named to the CSC Academic All-District Team.

Jack Forrest,
Sage Sungail and
Cameron Thompson were the Mustangs named to the list. The 2026 Academic All-District Team is selected by College Sports Communicators and recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and be at least a sophomore academically and athletically. They must also compete in 75 percent of competitions, finish top eight at a conference meet or participate in a national championship.
Berube picked up the honor by maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.65 while majoring in Corporate Communication & Public Affairs. The Dallas native broke the 200 back program record three times this season while also renewing the 100 back record. He was named Second Team All-American after placing 14
th in the 200 back at the NCAA Championships.
A Little Rock, Arkansas, native, Forrest is earning the nod for the third consecutive year. The senior boasts a 3.87 GPA as a Finance major. This season, Forrest competed at the NCAA Championships in the 800 free relay and finished top 20 in the 200 and 500 free at the ACC Championships.
Sungail earned his first CSC Academic All-District honor by maintaining a 3.75 GPA as a Finance major. The senior from Altamonte Springs, Florida, was named Second Team All-American by placing 15
th in the 800 free relay. He was part of SMU's 400 free relay, 800 free relay and 200 medley relay teams that broke program records this season.
A native of Johannesburg, South Africa, Thompson is earning his first CSC Academic All-District honor by maintaining a 3.96 GPA while studying mechanical engineering. The sophomore, specializing in the free and fly events, made seven appearances for SMU this season.
