Rowing Announces Spring Schedule

DALLAS (SMU) – The SMU women's rowing team has announced its spring competition schedule. The defending American Athletic Conference champions will be in several unfamiliar situations, but they will take place on familiar waters as SMU is hosting three of its first four events.
The Mustangs, who finished the 2020-21 season 11th at the NCAA Championships, start the season on Feb. 5 against Wisconsin in Merritt Island, Fla. SMU will race on White Rock Lake for its next three regattas, hosting defending National Champion Texas in between races against Louisville and Minnesota. It will be the first time SMU has hosted the Cardinals and the Gophers.
SMU then travels for the final two races before the American Athletic Conference Championships, held May 15 in Oak Ridge, Tenn., where the Mustangs won their first conference championship last season. The Pac-12 Invitational will be in Las Vegas, Nev., followed by a rematch against Texas in Austin, Texas. The NCAA Championships will be held in Sarasota, Fla., May 27-29.
