"On behalf of GF Sport & Entertainment, we are proud to award SMU senior, Caleb Chakravarthi with this opportunity," stated Dallas Open Tournament Director, Peter Lebedevs. "We are committed to growing the game of tennis and understand how opportunities like these can change a young aspiring tennis player forever. Caleb has demonstrated tremendous values and leadership during his time at SMU and we know he will continue to flourish in his final collegiate season before taking the next step to the pro level. I look forward to watching him play on the big stage on his home courts in front of a full house right here on The Hilltop."

In addition to being a two-time captain at SMU, Chakravarthi is also the reigning Islander Invite singles and doubles champion. While this will be his first crack at the ATP Tour, he has previously competed at the Challenger and Futures levels. Upon hearing the news of his Dallas Open invitation, he stated, "I would like to thank tournament director Peter Lebedevs and the Dallas Open for such an incredible opportunity. It is an honor to participate in an ATP Tour level event right here at home. It has been my dream since I first picked up a racquet to play the highest level of tennis. It will be so exciting to see how my game matches up with the best players in the world."

Ecstatic for his star senior, Head Coach Grant Chen added, "We are so thankful for Peter and the Dallas Open for this tremendous opportunity awarded to Caleb. GF Sports & Entertainment understands the significant impact of college sports for these players' development, and we are so grateful for their support of collegiate tennis. This will be a great field and the only professional indoor tennis tournament in the US. Caleb has been committed to his education and has high aspirations to play pro tennis after graduation. This will offer him invaluable experience."

Tickets are currently available on the Dallas Open's official website. A reunion reception will also be held on February 8th for all SMU Men's Tennis alumni.
