KANSAS CITY, Mo. (SMU/United Soccer Coaches) – The SMU women's soccer team finished the season ranked No. 21 in the final United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Poll. The Mustangs went 12-5-2 overall, defeated Texas in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, and concluded the season with a loss to eventual National Champion Florida State in the second round of the tournament.
The Mustangs advanced in the tournament for the first time since 2006 with the 2-0 win against Texas, and were the only team to score a tournament goal against the Seminoles when
Lindsey Whitmore found the back of the net. It was the first SMU goal against a No. 1-ranked team in program history.

SMU had five players named All-American Athletic Conference and two selected for the all-rookie team.
