DALLAS (SMU) – The SMU women's soccer program battled the heat and drew Boise State 0-0 on Thursday.
Both teams endured the triple-digit kickoff departure and generated quality looks throughout the contest, but strong goalkeeping on both sides kept the match even. Â
The Mustangs' (1-1-1, 0-0-0 ACC)
Aubrey Brown led the charge on defense, recording six saves on 12 shots faced, while Boise State's (2-0-1, 0-0-0 Pac-12) Ava de Leest recorded three saves on 8 shots faced.
SMU has now recorded back-to-back shutouts after the team defeated UNT 2-0 last time out. Tonight marks the 25
th shutout for the Mustangs under coach

Both teams played the first half slow, getting a feel for each other and generating only three shots apiece. Beck, who finished the night tied for the team lead in shots with two, gave SMU its first good look in the 13
th minute, followed by a chance from
Kaylee Noble in the 27
th, but neither found the back of the net.
Offensive opportunities ramped up in the second half for both teams. Early in the second half, the Broncos, who extended their unbeaten streak to 17 dating back to last season, rattled off four shots in a five-minute span, but were stopped by Brown and the SMU backline.
Libby Jannereth provided a spark for the Mustangs late in the second half as she had a shot blocked and a shot saved by BSU to keep SMU off the board as time continued to tick away.
With the heat still bearing down, neither team was able to find the back of the net in the final minutes, as the match ended in a 0-0 draw.
OTHER NOTES
Sunday's Match was the fifth game between SMU and Boise State. SMU now leads the series 3-1-1 and is 2-0-1 at home versus BSU.Â
The Mustangs are now 23-11-5 at home under Nelson.
