No. 4 SMU hosts its final regular season meets on Friday and Saturday at the Dallas Equestrian Center. The Mustangs will take on Lynchburg in a Jumping Seat-only meet on March 12 at 10 a.m. CT and No. 9 Baylor on March 13 at 10 a.m. CT for Senior Day.

LAST TIME OUT
SMU had a two-win weekend, defeating then-No. 2 TCU, 11-3, and No. 5 Fresno State, 12-3, at the Dallas Equestrian Center on March 5 and 6, respectively, while earning all eight MOP honors. The Mustangs swept three events over the two wins and had 10 riders go undefeated in their respective events.

SERIES HISTORY
Friday will be the second time that SMU will compete against Lynchburg in Jumping Seat events. The two faced off during the 2019-20 season in a neutral site meet in Davis, California. SMU won, 6-2, over the Hornets and won both MOP awards.

SMU and Baylor have faced off 15 times in program history, with SMU winning the last two matchups. Both of the previous wins were at the Dallas Equestrian Center for a 2-3 record when playing the Bears at home. During the 2019-20 season, the Mustangs defeated the Bears, 14-5, and earned three of the meet's MOP honors.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
Lynchburg is currently 0-3 in NCEA competition this season. The Hornets have fallen at South Carolina, Auburn and against Sweet Briar. The will take on TCU Thursday before heading to Dallas for Friday's meet.

Baylor is currently 1-3 this season after falling twice this past weekend at at Oklahoma State and against Fresno State. The Bears defeated TCU in February, 10-9, in Waco after dropping their first meet of the season to Texas A&M after tying 9-9 and losing in the raw score. Along with Lynchburg, Baylor will face TCU on Thursday.

THIS WEEK'S LINEUP
SMU's Jumping Seat lineup versus Lynchburg will feature Faith Davis, Madigan Eppink, Taylor Madden, and Katy Merchant in Flat. For Fences, Emma Jolly, Taylor Madden, Devin Seek and Olivia Woodson will compete.

The Mustang starters versus Baylor in Flat will be Madigan Eppink, Taylor Madden, Madi Johnson, Miranda Seade and Olivia Woodson. In Fences, Emma Jolly, Taylor Madden, Alex Pielet, Devin Seek and Olivia Woodson will be competing. Horsemanship will feature Aubrey Alderman, Lily Anderson, Nya Kearns, Mallory Vroegh and Megan Waldron. The Reining lineup of Aubrey Alderman, Chalyce Head, Dani Latimer, Jill Pfisthner and Taylor Zimmerman wraps up SMU's side of the drawsheet.

50 WINS FOR CAROL GWIN
Head coach Carol Gwin earned her 50th win at SMU when the Mustangs defeated South Dakota State at home on Jan. 29. Since starting at SMU in 2014, she has led SMU to two 10-win seasons, two conference championships and a national Reining runner-up title. Gwin has coached six NCEA First Team All-Americans, an NCEA Rider and two Co-Riders of the Year and countless Conference Riders of the Year and All-Conference riders. In 2018 and 2019, she was named back-to-back UEC Coach of the Year after sharing the title as Co-Coach of the Year in 2017.

ATTENDANCE POLICY
The Dallas Equestrian Center will allow fans to be in attendance for SMU's equestrian meets, however ONLY student-athletes and event staff will be allowed in the barn. All fans will be required to wear masks and distance from others while observing the arenas. Fans are permitted to bring their own food and beverages to the facility and are encouraged to bring their own seating. Appropriate restrooms will be provided.

This policy is subject to change throughout the season, especially in the event of inclement weather. The decision to not allow any fans may be made very close to meet day, so please plan travel accordingly.

UP NEXT
SMU heads to Martin, Tennessee for the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championship on March 26 and 27. The championship seeding will be announced following the conclusion of the regular season meets.
