Kennedy Pedigo had a career-best solo-fourth place finish at the Maryb S. Kauth Invitational. Pedigo closed play with a 3-over 75 to finish at +6 for the 54-hole tournament.

"Kennedy played well again today," head coach
Jeanne Sutherland said. "She let a few putts get away, but overall it was a good day because she gave herself a lot of excellent opportunities to score."

"The team as a whole still has a lot of work to do going forward," Sutherland added.

Pedigo finished in the top-20 for the third consecutive tournament, and posted her second career top-five finish. She previously tied for fourth at the 2019 Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational, but this is her first time alone in fourth place. She led the team with seven birdies and 35 pars in the tournament's three rounds.

The Mustangs finished sixth at +64. Texas Tech won the tournament at +24, and the Red Raiders' Sofia Garcia won medalist honors at -5. SMU had a +29 at San Antonio Country Club Wednesday.

Ashley Chow secured a career-best finish with a tie for 24
th. Chow had two birdies en route to a 6-over 80 in the third round, moving her to +18 for the tournament. Chow is the fourth Mustang to post a top-25 finish this season, and the third SMU freshman to notch a top-25 finish.

Serena Shah played steady golf through the tough conditions at the par 72 / 6,131-yard setup, finishing the tournament tying for a season-best 27
th at +19. Shah did not take a score worse than a bogey Wednesday, shooting 80 on the way to her fourth career finish of 30
th-or-better.

Katie James, competing as an individual, used two birdies to shoot a 78 in the final round. James tied for 40
th at +26 with her teammate
Nicole Vivier, who shot an 82 to close play.
Megan Chou tied for 43
rd at +27, signing for a final-round 84.

The Mustangs take a few days off before returning to action March 14-16 at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate, hosted by Tulane at New Orleans' English Turn Golf and Country Club.
