STANFORD, California- The No. 19 SMU's men's golf team shot 1-under in the final round of The Goodwin at Stanford Golf Course. Four of SMU's five golfers were even par or better Saturday.

Noah Goodwin had the Mustangs' best finish of the tournament, tying for fourth at -7 after a final-round 70. It is Goodwin's third top-five finish in five events this season, and he has finished in the top-25 in all five of his start. In the month of March, Goodwin is a combined -16 in three events, with eight of his nine competitive rounds being even-par or better.

"Noah played great this week, and Mac [Meissner] was very solid once again," head coach
Chris Parra said. "Golf is tough sometimes, and the rest of the team has to break out of the little slump they are in. We will work hard the next few weeks and be ready to crush it at the AAC Championship."

After the final-round of -1, the Mustangs finished the tournament 7
th out of 28 schools at +10. Arizona State won the event at -15, while Sam Harned of Nevada and Blake Hathcoat of Saint Mary's (California) shared medalist honors. The Mustangs posted a comparative record of 21-6 in the event.

Dawson Ovard had the best SMU round of the day, writing a 69 on his scorecard. Ovard started his day with an eagle on the 521-yard 1st and added four birdies to his card after that. Ovard finished tied for 107
th at +15.

Like Goodwin,
Mac Meissner and
Nathan Petronzio were both even par in the tournament's final round. Meissner completed the event on the par 70 / 6,727-yard course at 1-under par, and has not posted a 54-hole score worse than +1 this season. Meissner tied for 14
th, and has finished in the top-15 in all five of his events this season.

Petronzio's 70 was his best round of the tournament and included a bogey-free 34 (-1) on the back nine. Petronzio tied for 107
th at +15.
Ollie Osborne tied for 76
th at +11 after a final-round 77.

The Mustangs next event as a team is the American Athletic Conference Championship, which takes place April 22-24 at Southern Hills Golf Club in Brooksville, Fla. However, two Mustangs will compete as amateurs in professional events the next two weeks;
Mac Meissner at the Valero Texas Open (April 1-4) and
Ollie Osborne at the Masters Tournament (April 8-11).
