DALLAS (SMU) – Three Mustangs from the SMU rowing program were recognized at the SMU Honors Convocation that took place Monday night.

The Honors Convocation celebrates the academic excellence achieved by SMU undergraduate students. This ceremony recognizes new honor society inductees, national fellowships, various distinguished scholarships and internships, school and departmental awards, and graduating University Honors Program students.

Morgan Caldwell was inducted into Alpha Kappa Delta. This is an organization set out to acknowledge and promote excellence in the study of sociology.

Isabelle Galko earned the Critical Language Scholarship for Indonesian by the Office of National Fellowships and Awards.

Erin Pierce was inducted into the University Honors Program. The UHP is open to qualified students of all majors. Members are reviewed on the basis of academic merit reflected in their standardized test scores, unweighted high school GPA, and rigor of high school curriculum. 

Pierce also earned the Critical Language Scholarship for Arabic by the Office of National Fellowships and Awards.
