SAN ANTONIO, Texas – SMU signee Zhuric Phelps was named Texas Mr. Basketball by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABC). Phelps earned the honor after leading Duncanville to the 2021 6A State Title and being named 6A State Tournament MVP.
"Zhuric has just finished off one of the most impressive senior seasons in recent memory," said SMU Head Coach
Tim Jankovich. "To win the 6A State Championship, be named the MVP of the Championship game and then add the Mr. Basketball title for the State of Texas. It was one incredible season. A testament to this young man's hard work and dedication."
