COLOMBIA (SMU) – Former Mustang standout
Isabella Arcila (2012-15) is one of two swimmers who will represent Colombia at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
This will be the second consecutive trip to the Games for Arcila after racing in Rio, and the Colombian will compete in the 100-meter backstroke and 50-meter freestyle.
At the Nacional Interligas in Barranquilla in June, Arcila won both events and set the National Record in the 100 back (1:01.08).
As a member of Colombia's team in 2016, Arcila competed in the 50 free, placing fourth in her heat and 30th overall out of 91 entered participants. She posted a time of 25.35, setting a National Record.

Arcila is the 50 free record holder at SMU and is also part of program records in the 200 free, 200 medley and 400 medley relays. She is a seven-time All-American and 17-time conference champion. Overall, she collected 24 all-conference honors during her time on the Hilltop.
She was twice named the Conference USA Swimmer of the Year and earned CSCAA Scholar All-America accolades.
