DALLAS (SMU) –
The SMU women's swimming and diving team swept a Friday afternoon dual meet against North Texas at the Robson & Lindley Aquatics Center and Barr-McMillion Natatorium. The 167-69 win also included a complete sweep of five of 11 swimming events. With the win, the Mustangs improve to 4-1 in dual action this season, while the Mean Green fall to 3-1.

Gabi Grobler led Mustang swimmers with her career performance in the 200-yard breaststroke. The fifth-year senior won the event in a career-best, NCAA B cut time of 2:12.97. The mark also places her 10th all-time at SMU in the event. This is the fifth-career NCAA B cut for Grobler, third of the season (200 IM, 400 IM), and the first in the 200 breast. Grobler also won the 200-yard individual medley by over seven seconds, clocking in at 2:03.51.

Ilektra Lebl also doubled for SMU, leading a mile sweep by nearly 20 seconds at 16:54.22 and following it up as the front-runner of a 200-yard backstroke sweep at 2:04.07.

Butterfly specialist Olivia Grossklaus posted a commanding victory of nearly six seconds in the 200 distance, finishing in 2:01.75.

Five Mustangs picked up victories in the remaining four freestyle events, including a 50-yard freestyle tie from Johanna Gudmundsdottir and Tiffanie Ruan (24.16). The 100 saw Indra Vandenbussche (51.95) take the top spot, while Jenna Watson (1:51.99) won the 200 and Annabelle Corcoran (5:08.92) the 500.

On the diving side, Johanna Holloway and Nicole Stambo led a Mustang sweep. Holloway stayed above the NCAA standard to win 3 meter, registering a 323.90, just shy of her career-best 327.95. On 1 meter, both Stambo and Holloway were above the standard, with Stambo posting a 307.20 for the victory, nearly 43 points ahead of the field and just under her career best of 309.55.

In keeping with the sweeping theme, both Mustang relays took home wins on the day. Kate Janzen, Julia Yakushi, Valentina Becerra and Vandenbussche clocked a 1:45.15 to win the opening 200-yard medley relay, while Vandenbussche, Ruan, Gudmundsdottir and Becerra won the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:35.43.

The Mustangs are back in action Saturday when they host American Athletic Conference opponent Tulane. Action will be streamed on PonyUp TV, with live results available on SMUMustangs.com, DiveMeets and the Meet Mobile App.
