COLLEGE STATION, Texas (SMU) – The SMU women's swimming and diving team fell to No. 22 Texas A&M on the road Friday night.
Ilektra Lebl (10:23.07) led the Mustangs in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a third-place finish, and also placed third in the 500 free at 5:00.52. In additional freestyle action,
Jenna Watson continues to lead SMU's 200-yard freestyle efforts, placing third at 1:52.72, and
Alex Stevens was second in the 100 free at 51.66.
Gabi Grobler was the top finisher in the 100-yard backstroke, finishing third in a time of 56.67 and followed the performance up tying for runner-up honors in the 200 IM with a time of 2:03.31.
Olivia Grossklaus also turned in a second place performance for the Mustangs in the 200-yard butterfly at 2:01.00.
In diving action,
Hannah Craley was the Mustangs' highest finisher, placing fourth on 1 meter with a 232.95.
With the 174-114 loss, SMU falls to 5-2 on the season.
The Mustangs are back in action Friday at 4 p.m. when they host No. 2 Texas for Senior Day. The event will stream on PonyUp TV.
