The SMU equestrian team, winner of its last four consecutive meets, sets its sights on DFW-rival TCU as they host the Horned Frogs on Thursday at the Dallas Equestrian Center.
SMU looks to even the all-time series against TCU, who holds an 11-10 edge over SMU. The Mustangs are 6-2 when hosting the Horned Frogs, having won the last four-straight home meets and not having lost against TCU in Dallas since the 2015-16 season.
TCU enters Thursday's match looking for its third consecutive win after 14-5 and 15-3 wins over Delaware State and UT Martin, respectively.
Notable SMU Streaks: Fences
Mustangs have claimed four of the last five MOP (Most Outstanding Performer) awards in Fences, three of which have been won by junior
Alex Pielet. Pielet, winner of 6-straight, maintains a 7-3 record on the season and holds four MOP titles, three of which were won consecutively against No. 1 Oklahoma State, No. 6 Fresno State, and No. 9 UT Martin.
Senior
Devin Seek has won 3-straight and has not lost since Oct. 30 vs. No. 2 Georgia. The NCEA Fences First-Team All-American has a 7-2-1 record on the year.
Freshman
Elli Yeager has won in six of her first seven meets and carries a four-meet win streak, amassing a 6-1 record in her first year as a Mustang.
Junior
Emma Jolly has won three of her last four and is 5-3 entering Thursday's competition.
Flat
Since entering the lineup on Nov. 19 against No. 6 Fresno State, freshman
Hensley Humphries has won three consecutive in the Flat to open her 2022 campaign 3-0.
Sophomore
Taylor Madden has won in four consecutive meets, pushing her record to 7-1 on the season. Madden's lone loss of the year took place against No. 2 Georgia on Oct. 30.
Horsemanship
The Mustangs have swept Western MOPs in the last four meets, including six consecutive in Reining.
Nya Kearns remains undefeated on the season with an 8-0-2 record, including a six-straight run that began at No. 8 UC Davis on Nov. 4. Her 2021-22 resume includes three MOP outings at No. 10 UT Martin (Oct. 2), No. 2 Georgia (Oct. 30), and No. 9 UT Martin (Jan. 29).
Mallory Vroegh holds a convincing 8-2 record on the year, including five-straight wins and three MOP awards, two of which came back-to-back against Delaware State and TCU in the fall.
Payton Neiberger has a 6-1 record on the season, winning all-six consecutively. Neiberger's lone loss came in her season debut against No. 6 TCU on Oct. 8.
Reining
SMU has claimed MOP accolades in six consecutive meets, three of which belong to junior
Dani Latimer. Latimer, the 2021 NCEA Reining Rider of the Year, holds a 6-3-1 record on the season.

Chalyce Head has a 6-3-1 record on the season, not having lost since Oct. 30 against No. 2 Georgia. Head's 73-71 performance on Jan. 29 against No.7
Delaware State was good for the first MOP title of her SMU career.
