DALLAS, Texas (SMU) -- The SMU Mustangs will open up their outdoor season close to home at TCU this Saturday, March 19. The Mustangs wrapped up their indoor season with a fifth-place finish at the AAC Championships and had several weeks of training to prepare for this opener and the rest of the outdoor season.Â
"The women have had the time to recover and bring down training intensity since the AAC Championship," Head Coach A'Havahla Haynes said. "TCU provides the team a low pressure meet that will have high caliber competition."Â
TCU's competition will consist of TCU, Baylor, UNT, UTA, Northwestern State and Oklahoma. SMU's goal is to pick up right where they left off at the AAC Championship.Â
"The team's goals are to open up the outdoor campaign with marks close to where we ended the indoor season," Haynes said. "How we start the season will provide insight into how our championship season will go come May and June."Â
The meet will begin on Saturday at 9:30 a.m.Â
