DALLAS (SMU) – Friday evening, the No. 55-ranked SMU women's tennis team claimed a 4-0 shutout victory over American Athletic Conference rival Houston at the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex.

Lana Mavor defeated UH's Laura Slisane/Blanca Cortijo Parreno 6-2. Freshman

Winslow Huth improved to 2-0 on the year with the doubles-clinching 6-3 win over Elena Trencheva/Sophie Gerits.

Hadley Doyle each delivered a straight-set punch to seal the shutout.
At a critical 5-4 junction in the opening set with and ahead 40-30, Keberle took down Dzmeshkevich to take a one-set advantage. Keberle then dispatched of Dzmeshkevich 6-1, earning the straight-set win and winning her fourth-consecutive win on court one.
Nylander earned a 6-2, 6-2 win on court three over Cougar Azul Pedemonti for her second win of the season.
On court two, Doyle opened up to a 5-1 lead in the first set, before Houston's Slisane narrowed the gap at 5-3. Doyle then shut the door on Slisane's comeback, taking the first set 6-3. In the second set, Doyle and Slisane traded game wins to a 3-3 tie, before Doyle took three straight to earn a 6-3, 6-3 victory, winning her point and clinching the 4-0 win for the Mustangs.
On court five, graduate senior
Claudia Bartolome opened her match against UH's Cortijo Parreno with a 6-4 win in set one. Bartolome trailed in the second 5-3, before SMU clinched and the match was called.
Nicole Petchey on line six won her first set against Gabriela Giraldo 6-4 and was tied at 3-3 in the second set before the match was called.
The Mustangs (7-5, 2-0 AAC) close out a five-match home stand on Sunday, hosting No. 34 Texas Tech.
