Stambo Opens NCAA Zones With Career Performance On 1 Meter

MADISON, Wis. (SMU) – Nicole Stambo opened the NCAA Zone D Diving Championships with a career performance on 1 meter. After two rounds, the junior finished with a 565.95, good for 16th place.

Stambo came out of prelims in 13th place (279.75), looking to advance to the NCAA Division I Swimming & Diving Championships as part of the top 10 in the afternoon finals. Her 286.20 on the second six dives cemented the 16th-place finish.

Jaclynn Fowler (252.65) and Hannah Craley (218.50) also represented the Mustangs in 1 meter prelims, finishing 26th and 40th, respectively, in the 48-diver field.  

Action resumes Tuesday with the Mustangs competing on 3 meter. Stambo and Fowler will compete again, while Johanna Holloway will make her 2022 Zones debut. Prelims begin at 11 a.m. CT with live video and results available.
