Mustangs Finish Top 10 At Chamber’s Bay Invitational

UNIVERSITY PLACE, WA (SMU) – The Mustangs played the final round of the Chamber's Bay Invitational today in University Place, Washington. After three rounds, SMU finished at +69 and in 9th place in the 18-team field. Kennedy Pedigo secured the highest individual finish on the team, tying for 31st with her +16 cumulative score. No. 15 UCLA ran away with the tournament, securing the overall and individual titles at +12 and -1 (Emma Spitz), respectively.
 
For her second round of the tournament, Pedigo knocked in two birdies today. She shot a +3 front nine and +6 back for a final round 81 (+9). She tied for 31st with her +16 overall score.
 
Maddi Olson followed closely behind, finishing at +18 after her final round 82 (+10). This tied her for 39th individually. Olson recorded two more birdies today, lifting her tournament total to eight. She tied for a team-high with Katie James, the two finishing tied for 17th in the field.
 
James played a tremendous -3 front nine today which included four birdies. She shot 10-over on the back to settle her overall tournament score at +21, tying her for 52nd place. The senior tied for eighth in the field in par 4 scoring at -1 (4.92).
 
Megan Daleo had her best round of the tournament today, shooting +6 (78). This was also the second-best final round score for SMU. She made one birdie in each of her three rounds and finished tied for 62nd at +22. Serena Shah led the Mustangs with her final round 76 (+4). It was her best round of the week and included a birdie and 13 pars. She also shot an even front nine. The senior finished tied for 77th with her overall +26.
 
Analytical Breakdown:
- SMU finished tied for sixth in par 4 scoring at +63 (4.42)
- With 142 pars this week, the Mustangs were just 12 off the leaders (Washington, 154)
- SMU recorded 26 birdies throughout the tournament
 
Hole-by-Hole
- The Mustangs' best hole today was the par 5 first, shooting -2 with no bogeys
- SMU shot -1 with no bogeys on the par 4 12th today
- All five Mustangs recorded final round pars on the par 3 third
