Jun 24

DALLAS – Six SMU men's tennis players have been awarded wild cards to compete in the RBC Dallas Summer Tennis Series at the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex June 27th through July 3rd.

"RBC Wealth Management is thrilled to continue our commitment to tennis at all levels throughout Texas by sponsoring the RBC Dallas Summer Tennis Series! As an organization, our support of tennis allows us to give back to the communities where we work, live, and love. I hope everyone will come out and cheer on their favorite SMU tennis players as well as the rising stars from around the globe," said Andy Teller, senior managing director at RBC Wealth Management.

Sophomores Adam Neff and Liam Krall have been given singles main draw wild cards. They were among the four Mustangs competing in the ATP Tour's Dallas Open in February. Julian Steinhausen, Pranav Kumar, and John Zisette received singles qualifying draw wild cards.

On the doubles side, Neff and Kumar will be a wild card team in the main draw. The pairing went 8-2 last season and finished the year ranked No. 56 in the nation by the ITA. They will be joined by Steinhausen and Huntley Allen who held an impressive 18-6 mark last season.

Steinhausen stated, "The dream is always to play professional tennis, so I couldn't be more excited about this opportunity. I'm also so thankful to the people who made this possible including Tournament Director Nicole Stammel and the RBC."

Stammel added, "We are proud to have RBC Dallas Summer Series right here at the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex. This is continuing the vision of showcasing great tennis at this incredible tennis facility for our Dallas tennis community. We look forward to welcoming the rising stars who will be competing in the Dallas Open one day. We are excited about our wild card recipients and look forward to watching them compete at this next level of competition."

The tournament will feature one night session on Thursday, June 30th at 7:00 p.m. There will be free admission to all matches.
