2022-2023 (Gr.):
13-12 overall record... 10-11 dual record... Went 16-8 in doubles play including a team high 11-5 record with partner Adam Neff... Earned the 2023 AAC Championship Most Outstanding Performer after going 5-1 in singles and doubles, including singles victories in all three team wins (Tulsa, Memphis and Tulane)... Earned a three set victory in championship match against Tulane over Alex Bancila to tie the match at 3-3... Ranked as high as No. 55 with Adam Neff as they earned four ranked victories over the season, including a defeat over the then No. 11 ranked doubles duo of Baylor... Kumar and Neff played a close match against Ivan and Matej Sabanov in the first-round main draw of the ATP Tour's Dallas Open before falling in a tiebreaker... Named to the CSC Academic All-District Men's Tennis Team.
2020-2021 (Graduate Student at SMU):
Started for the Mustangs throughout the season in both singles and doubles. 16-6 singles record including 12-4 mark at No. 4 line. Won AAC Player of the Week on March 1 after clinching a 4-3 win over his former team, No. 18 ranked Texas A&M... 13-9 overall doubles record. Ranked as high as No. 34 with Adam Neff (8-2). Playing with Neff, defeated Memphis' ranked and NCAA Tournament qualifying doubles pairing of Stevenson/Taylor twice.
2019-20 (RS So. at Texas A&M):
Went 9-6 in overall singles play, posting an 8-6 record during tournament action in the fall… Won his first singles dual match of the year against Franklin Brozovich of Valparaiso… Finished with a 6-6 overall doubles record, including a 3-2 record in dual match play… Earned his first collegiate ranked doubles win against No. 43 David Goulak and Ivan Thamma of UC Davis. Played all of his doubles dual matches at the No. 3 line.
2018-19 (RS Fr. at Texas A&M):
Posted a 3-5 mark in singles action with a 3-1 record in dual matches… Played two matches apiece at the No. 4 and No. 5 lines… Went 2-0 in the No. 4 slot… Longest win streak of the season was two matches… Went 9-3 in doubles, including a 5-1 mark in dual matches.
2017-2018 (Redshirt at Texas A&M):
Redshirted Freshman season.
PERSONAL:
Kumar was born in Boston, Massachusetts. He has one sister. Graduated Texas A&M with a degree in Computer Science. As a junior, he claimed Texas Grand Slam title and played in Kalamazoo. In his free time, he enjoys hanging out with teammates, playing PS4, and watching Netflix. Will be studying Masters of Science Finance at SMU's Cox School of Business starting January '22.
