2022 Roster
DALLAS (SMU) – The SMU women's soccer team made 12 additions to its roster ahead of its upcoming 2022 season, the program announced on Monday.

Nicole Nelson – consists of nine freshman signees, along with three transfer additions.
Hannah Wrigley – Goalkeeper, Sophomore | Lewisville, Texas/Hebron HS/USF
A keeper from Lewisville (Hebron HS) and transfer from South Florida, Wrigley played for Solar Soccer Club, part of U.S. Soccer's Development Academy. Wrigley also served one season as a member of the varsity squad at Hebron HS, serving as both a goalkeeper and field player.
During her time with Solar, Wrigley started 30 games, boasting a 30-1-1 record throughout her stint with the club. As a goalkeeper, Wrigley only allowed 26 career goals while helping the team compile a plus-153 goal differential. In 2019, Wrigley and Solar claimed US Development Academy National Champion honors.
Sophie King – Defender, Freshman | Austin, Texas/Westlake HS
In her senior year at Westlake HS (Eanes ISD), King served on a defensive unit which helped post 16 shutouts on the way to a Texas 6A national semifinal appearance. In 2021, Westlake amassed a 20-4 record, with defenders allowing only 14 goals throughout the season to Westlake's 82 scored.
Peyton Annen – Defender, Freshman | Plano, Texas/Lebanon Trail High School
Plano, Texas native and former Solar SC defender
Peyton Annen joins a Mustang defensive unit which posted nine shutouts in the fall of 2021, including a 2-0 victory over Texas in the NCAA Tournament.
Victoria Peterson – Forward, Freshman | Faith Lutheran HS/Las Vegas
Peterson, a freshman attacker, was a member of the 2019 Nevada 4A State Championship Faith Lutheran varsity team – A program which went 23-0-1 on the season, was ranked as high as No. 3 in the USA Today Super 25 national rankings, and outscored opponents 112-3 throughout its historic season. As a senior, Peterson claimed 2019 All-State first team honors and Mountain Region Defender of the Year recognition.
Eliana Salama – Forward, Freshman Pembroke Pines, Fla./Pines Charter HS
The former attacker and team captain of Pines Charter HS varsity helped lead the program to three-consecutive regional final runner-up finishes, and a 2022 district champion title. Salama, a three-time all-county first-team selection, averaged 0.6 goals-per-match and 0.4 assists-per-match in her final season.
Julissa Cisneros – Forward, Graduate Senior | Moreno Valley, Calif./Rancho Verde HS/Missouri
Transferring from Missouri to the Hilltop in her final year of eligibility, Cisneros served as a key element of the Missouri offense in 2021, tallying two goals and a team-high six assists on the year. The two-time All-SEC selection (2018, 2020) totaled 22 goals, 11 assists, and 55 points in her time at Missouri, leading the Tigers in either assists or goals in three consecutive seasons.
Mayu Inokawa -- Midfielder, Sophomore | Saitama, Japan/Iowa Western CC
Inokawa started in 29 of 31 games played in two seasons at Iowa Western Community College, where she totaled four goals and five assists for a total of 13 points. Inokawa also served as a defensive force for the Reivers, earning back-to back ICCAC defensive MVP honors and a 2020-21 all-tournament selection on the way to an Iowa Western 16-3 record and NJCAA DI Central District Championship. College Player Award of Distinction following the spring 2021 season – An award which is bestowed upon players who show strength on the field and as exceptional leaders within their program.
Maura Yumul – Freshman Midfielder | Olympian HS/Chula Vista, Calif.
Yumul, an offensive midfielder, brings with her to SMU a decorated playing career as a member of San Diego Surf. In a US Youth National Championship victory in 2017, Yumul was named a recipient of the Golden Ball award, and "Best XI" selection for posting an all-tournament performance.
Gracie Burns – Freshman Midfielder | Mater Dei HS/Newport Beach, Calif.
Burns, in her final two years at Mater Dei HS, helped the program earn a 31-4-3 record through that stretch and two playoff appearances, while winning program MVP honors in both seasons. Burns also played for HB Koge Slammers (formerly LAFC Slammers), where Burns and her respective teams were ECNL Southwest Division Champions in three consecutive years. Burns and HB Koge finished as finalists in the 2022 ECNL National Championship.
Jen Jackson – Freshman Forward | Dallas, Texas/L.E.E. HS/Rice
As an attacker at L.E.E. (Legacy of Educational Excellence) HS in San Antonio, Jackson, a four-year starter and three-time all-district selection, graduated as the program's No. 2 all-time leading scorer with 69 career goals. As a junior in 2019, Jackson helped lead L.E.E. to a 16-3-4 finish, and scored the equalizer and game winner in the program's first playoff win in over 50 years.
Kaya Lee – Freshman Midfielder/Defender | Overland Park, Kan./Blue Valley Northwest HS
While playing for Sporting Blue Valley (2003/2004 ECNL) in Overland Park, Lee played in the 2019 US Developmental Academy playoffs and Girl's Academy playoffs. Through her club career, Lee ranked as high as No. 3 on
Instat metrics as a defensive/midfield specialist, and was named an ECNL U18/19 Midwest All-Conference First Team selection.
Paige Boeger – Freshman Defender | St. Louis, Mo./Clayton HS
In 2021, Boeger was part of a back line at Clayton HS which only allowed six goals on the season, notched ten shutouts, and finished 14-6 on the year, earning a district title. Boeger earned All-Conference, All-Region and All-State recognition in 2021, and was named All-Conference and All-Region as a freshman in 2019.
The No. 23 SMU Mustangs open their 2022 season on Thursday at the newly-updated Washburne Stadium at 7 p.m. against Rice.
