DALLAS (SMU) - Life After Ball's "Senior Series" kicked off its 2022-23 "season" this week on the Hilltop. The Senior Series consists of five workshops that help prepare Mustang student-athletes for life after graduation. The five workshops are: The Elevator Pitch, Networking 101, LinkedIn & Resumes, Taxes & Credit and Interview Prep.
This year, LAB is thrilled to partner with Evan Burk, an SMU alumnus and author of
Finding Intangibles to deliver a Senior Series that is specifically tailored to SMU's student-athlete population. Student-athletes attending the workshops have the ability to schedule one-on-one time with Evan and have the opportunity to go through mock interviews with him as well.
Upon completion of the Senior Series, each athlete earns a custom suit, and all will have professional headshots taken for their LinkedIn profiles. Life After Ball staff also work one-on-one with each athlete as needed to edit resumes, assist with applications, and provide interview preparation, all in addition to what they go through in this series.
"Evan's background as a coach, his experience at SMU and his expertise in career preparation make him the perfect fit to deliver high-caliber workshops that Mustang student-athletes will benefit from," said
Lisa Rawlins, Assistant A.D./Student-Athlete Success. "We're excited about this year."
