STILLWATER, Okla. (SMU) – Eric Hadigian went undefeated on the weekend to win the singles draw of the Cowboy Classic at the Greenwood Tennis Complex.

"I am very grateful to be back on the court and have the opportunity to play in high level matches," said Hadigian. "It feels great to get the singles title."

Hadigian, in his first appearance as a Mustang, came away victorious over Wichita State's Vanja Hodzic 10-8 to take home Sunday's singles championship.

Hadigian defeated Wichita State's Richey King (6-3, 6-4), Tulsa's Gus Tettamble (6-3, 2-6, 6-2) and Oklahoma State's Alessio Basile (4-6, 6-4, 6-4) to reach Sunday's singles final match to go 4-0 on the weekend.

Julian Steinhausen and Kyle Sillman finished 2-0 on weekend in the doubles draw, beating Wichita State's duo of Hodzic and King (8-5) on Friday and Tulsa's Victor Tosetto and Volodymyr Zakharov 8-4 in Saturday's semifinal.

Sunday's doubles championship was cancelled due to time constraints.

Steinhausen also advanced to Saturday's singles quarterfinals with a first-round victory over Tosetto (7-6(3), 4-6, 6-4).

"It was another productive weekend by the Mustangs," said Head Coach Grant Chen. "Playing in Stillwater gave us an opportunity to compete at the NCAA Championships host-site. Eric, who had been recovering from an injury for the past six months, returned to the court in terrific fashion by earning a singles title. Julian returned to competitive tennis playing in his first SMU match since May, and Callaway continued to progress in another successful weekend. Kyle shined in his doubles matches with Julian. We are ready for a strong test this week in Fort Worth at ITA Regionals."
