DALLAS-Â SMU is set to host the Arkansas Razorbacks in its final home match of the weekend at the Styslinger/ Altec Tennis Complex.

The Mustangs face the Razorbacks at 11 a.m. on Sunday following Friday's 4-0 shutout over South Florida.
Â
Senior Lana Mavor leads the way for the Mustangs as she is on a 13-game winning streak through the fall and holds an undefeated record throughout the spring season going 7-0.

INSIDE THE MATCH
SMU is 3-0 in home matches this season with three sweeps against Abilene Christian, Incarnate Word in the season opener and USF this past Friday.

The Mustangs are 14-10 against Arkansas. SMU lost its last matchup 4-1 to the Razorbacks on February 27, 2022 at the Styslinger/ Altec Tennis Complex.

Hadley Doyle is coming off being named the AAC Women's Player of the Week (Feb. 14) after defeating the nation's No. 56-ranked player in three sets as she improved to an overall singles record to 15-5 in the 2022-23 season.
In doubles, Doyle holds a 5-1 record with partner Lana Mavor with their only loss coming in this past week from ASU. The duo clinched the doubles point against USF winning 6-0 and never facing a breakpoint. Throughout the 2022-23 season the duo as a 12-1 overall record.

Lana Mavor remains undefeated throughout the 2023 season going 7-0 in singles. Mavor has clinched the singles point in three of SMU's three victories (Incarnate Word, VCU and USF). Mavor picked up the second and final point for the Mustangs against No. 23 ASU in three sets victory on Court 6. Mavor picked up the Mustangs second point against No. 1 Texas with a straight set victory at No. 6. The senior has gone 19-2 in singles play in the 2022-23 season.

Drew Morris, the AAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week (Jan. 24), holds a 6-1 singles record throughout the spring season. Morris picked up the first singles win for the Mustangs against USF with a straight set victory on Court 4. Morris' only loss throughout the season came from the No. 109- ranked player. Morris led the Mustangs to wins over Abilene Christian and Incarnate Word in their home opener. Morris picked up the Mustangs first victory over No. 1 ranked Texas. Morris added two more wins to her belt over the ITA Kickoff Weekend over Wisconsin and VCU. Since fall 2022, Morris is 18-4 in singles action.

The No. 32 ranked doubles duo of Jackie Nylander and Taylor Johnson won the first match of the day against USF with a 6-1 victory. The pair picked up the biggest win of their career together by defeating the nation's No. 7-ranked team of ASU in a dominate fashion. The SMU pair only gave up two games in a 6-2 victory. The duo is now 5-2 in doubles play on Court 1 throughout the spring season.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
Arkansas is coming off a 5-2 win to against Baylor improving to 5-1 this dual season. The Razorbacks have won the doubles point five times this season. Arkansas has two singles players ranked in the top 100 as well as one doubles team ranked in the top 100.

Arkansas finished the 2022 season in the NCAA Round of 64 with a 4-1 loss to UCLA resulting to a 16-10 overall season record.

LAST TIME OUT
On Feb. 17th SMU shut out South Florida, 4-0, on Friday at the Styslinger/ Altec Tennis Complex. The team effort began with two quick doubles wins to clinch the doubles point, followed by three straight singles matches to secure the shutout. The Mustangs' shutout of USF was the second in the series in the past three seasons. SMU had a 4-0 victory in Tampa on March 26, 2021.
