Mustangs Set To Compete In Main Draw Of Dallas Open

Feb 6

DALLAS- SMU men's tennis will have three representatives in the main draws of the 2023 Dallas Open.

Adam Neff and Pranav Kumar will take on ATP doubles ranked No. 97, Ivan Sabanov and Matej Sabanov in the first round of the doubles main draw for the last match tonight on stadium court. This will be the duos first appearance together in an ATP Tour Tournament. The Sabanov brothers won their first ATP doubles title in 2021 winning the Serbian Open.

Liam Krall will compete Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. where he will take on Radu Albot in the first round of the singles main draw. Krall's match will headline the Dallas Open's College Night. This will be Krall's second competition at the ATP level as he earned a qualifying wildcard singles spot at last year's Dallas Open where he fell to Jurji Rodionov.

The opening qualifying matches were kicked off yesterday afternoon as Antonio Muniz-Hidalgo competed against Gabriel Diallo. Diallo eventually took the first set 6-4 after winning in a six-deuce battle to break Muniz-Hidalgo.  The Canadian went on to defeated Muniz-Hidalgo in the second set 6-3.
