DALLAS (SMU) – The No. 1 SMU Equestrian team faces No. 8 Baylor at the Willis Family Equestrian Center Thursday at 11 a.m.

UP TO THIS POINT
No. 1 SMU won two out of its three road meets in SEC country Feb. 23-25. The Mustangs started off the trip by dominating South Carolina 13-7. One day later, SMU downed Georgia 10-9. SMU suffered its lone loss of the season Feb. 25, a 15-5 setback at Auburn. SMU opened its spring slate with back-to-back victories over UT Martin. SMU defeated the Skyhawks 13-5 on Jan. 28 in Dallas, and 12-6 on Feb. 11 in Martin, Tennessee. The Mustangs finished the fall with an unblemished 4-0 record. SMU started the season taking down then-No. 1 OSU 10-9 on the road followed by beating Baylor 13-6 in Dallas. SMU closed the fall in dominating fashion, taking down Delaware State 19-1 and UC Davis 14-6. 

SCOUTING THE BEARS
Baylor is 5-6 overall and 2-3 in Big 12 play. SMU won the first meeting of the season, a 13-6 victory on Nov. 4 at the Dallas Equestrian Center.

THE SERIES
SMU has won five consecutive meets against Baylor dating back to the 2017 season. The
Mustangs are 5-13 against the Bears all-time.  

RIDERS OF THE MONTH
SMU's Augusta Iwasaki and Mallory Vroegh were named National Equestrian Association
Riders of the Month for February. Iwasaki picked up honors in Fences, and Vroegh claimed
the accolade in Horsemanship.
