WACO, Texas (SMU)- No. 57 SMU women's tennis is set to clash with No. 42 Baylor at 6 p.m. on Monday Apr. 10 at the Hurd Tennis Center in Waco, Texas.

The Mustangs are looking to add their fourth ranked victory of the season. SMU picked up its second straight ranked win on Apr. 6 against No. 44 Rice with a 4-2 victory.

SMU is well represented in the new batch of ITA rankings. The Mustangs improve two spots to the No. 54 ranked team in the nation. Hadley Doyle continues in the singles rankings at the No. 120 spot. Taylor Johnson and Jackie Nylander close out SMU's rankings as the No. 56 ranked doubles pair.

The Bears have two individual members ranked in the ITA singles rankings. Alina Shcherbinna is the first Bear ranked at No. 90 followed by Isabella Harvison ranked at No. 95.

MUSTANG MARK
Drew Morris, is coming off being named the AAC Women's Player of the Week (Apr. 4) for the second time this season. Morris led SMU to a 4-0 win against No. 68 Tulsa in the Mustangs' lone dual match from last week as she won in both singles and doubles. She clinched the doubles point with a 6-2 decision at the No. 3 position and went on to take a 6-3, 6-2 decision at No. 3 singles as part of the shutout. Morris improved to 12-3 in dual matches in the spring season with a straight set victory against Rice improving to the most wins amongst the team. Morris was also named AAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week on Jan. 24. Since fall 2022, Morris is 25-8 in singles action.

No. 120- ranked Hadley Doyle was named the AAC Women's Player of the Week (Feb. 14) after defeating the nation's No. 56-ranked player in three sets. Doyle fought back in a three set victory to put the Mustangs within one of the match against Rice to improve to a 24-7 overall record in the 2022-23 season.

In doubles, Doyle holds an 10-4 record with partner Lana Mavor. The duo clinched the doubles point against Tulane with a 6-4 victory on Court 3. Throughout the 2022-23 season the duo has a 17-4 overall record.
 
Lana Mavor holds a 11-2 record throughout the 2023 season. Mavor has clinched the match in five of SMU's victories (Incarnate Word, VCU, USF, Richmond and Denver). Mavor picked up the second and final point for the Mustangs against No. 23 ASU in three sets victory on Court 6. Mavor picked up the Mustangs second point against No. 1 Texas with a straight set victory at No. 6. The senior has gone 24-6 in singles play in the 2022-23 season.
 
Jackie Nylander had her third match-clincher of the 2023 season with a straight set victory on Court 4 against Rice. Nylander has now won two matches in a row.
 
Taylor Johnson is on a four-match win streak after taking the past three home matches in straight sets against Richmond, Tulane and Tulsa. Most recently, Johnson was the first court off against Rice to improve to 7-4 throughout the dual season and an 16-8 overall record since fall 2022.
 
The No. 56 ranked doubles duo of Jackie Nylander and Taylor Johnson improves to 6-4 in doubles play on Court 1 throughout the spring season. The pair picked up the biggest win of their career together by defeating the nation's No. 7-ranked team of ASU in a dominate fashion. The SMU pair only gave up two games in a 6-2 victory.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
Baylor is coming off two victories leading into Monday's matchup. The Bears defeated Big 12 rival TCU 4-2 followed by a 7-0 sweep against UTSA.

SMU will return to the Styslinger/ Altec Tennis Complex for its last home match of the season on Apr. 14 against No. 25 San Diego at 1 p.m.
