
Rowing Selected To NCAA Championship

INDIANAPOLIS (SMU/NCAA) - SMU Rowing earned a bid to the NCAA Championships May 26-28 in Pennsauken, New Jersey.
One of 22 teams selected, the Mustangs will compete in heat four, lane two in the first varsity eight. They will be in heat two, lane two in both the second varsity eight and varsity four.
SMU is coming off a sweep of the American Athletic Conference rowing championship. It marked the third straight season the Mustangs have swept the AAC. Eight Mustangs were named as All-Conference including five as first team.
On the first team, Emily Baker, Daisy Butterworth, Alice Fahey, Megan Hewison and Sasha Radovanovic were selected from SMU. While Victoria Franklin, Kate Hadley and Sydney Suntrup were selected to the second team.
SMU is ranked No. 12 in the latest edition of the Pocock Coaches Poll. They are also ranked as the No. 2 boat in region five. Among the teams of region five, the SMU second varsity eight ranks as the top boat.
