The NCAA Track and Field Outdoor Championships take place in Austin this week and SMU's Raelyn Roberson will be competing in the long jump. The event will begin at 9 p.m. on Thursday, and Roberson said she is excited for the competition. 

"Practices have been going well, so I'm excited to see what I can put together," Roberson said. "Nationals has been a goal of mine every year since my freshman year, so I'm really excited for this opportunity and being able to soak every moment in." 

Head Coach A'Havahla Haynes said Roberson has been working all year to get to this point and will have a competitive advantage having already competed at the University of Texas venue multiple times just this season. 

"Coach Brobst has provided all the tools and believes Raelyn can shine come Thursday evening," Haynes said. "The entire team and staff are excited to watch her excel!" 

Roberson will jump in the first flight in third position.
