HOUSTON, Texas (SMU) -- The Mustangs are competing in their first meet of 2024 today in Houston. Head Coach A'Havahla Haynes said the goal is to open the year with marks comparable to the team's scrimmage at TCU and competition at Boston in early December.Â
"The group is motivated and now has experience on their side," Haynes said. "We have seniors that are spectacular female leaders and performers. I look forward to seeing them set the tone and make space to bring those new to the team and the AAC to their level."Â
Along with Houston as the host, SMU will face athletes from Fort Scott CC, Houston Christian, Lamar, Minnesota, North Texas, Sam Houston, Texas Southern and Texas State.Â
Field events begin at 9 a.m. with running starting at noon.Â
