DALLAS, Texas (SMU) -- SMU's Track and Field team will head in two directions this weekend to compete in both Boston and Albuquerque. Head Coach A'Havahla Haynes said this weekend is all about championship preparation.Â
"The intent is to post times and marks in the American conference," Haynes said.Â
The sprints and jumps squad will compete at the University of New Mexico's UNM Team Open on Friday and Saturday while the distance athletes will race at Boston University's John Thomas Terrier Classic. On the conference top-20 performance list, the Mustangs currently have 18 spots across all events, and they'll look to add more athletes to that this weekend.Â
This weekend is one of two opportunities left for the team to secure top times and marks within the conference before the indoor championship.Â
Action will begin at 9 a.m. (CT) tomorrow in Boston and 4 p.m. (CT) in Albuquerque.Â
