Sitz Earns Second Victory Of Weekend, No. 19 SMU Concludes SMU Classic

DALLAS (SMU) – Freshman diver Luke Sitz won his second event of the weekend, and Jack Hoagland reached his second NCAA B standard of the season as SMU Men's Swimming & Diving concluded the SMU Classic on Saturday afternoon at Robson & Lindley Aquatics Center.

Notable Results
200 Medley Relay
The Mustangs' team of Jack Berube, Kristaps Mikelsons, Russell Exum and Sage Sungail earned a mark of 1:28.18 to place fifth in the first event of the morning.

500 Free
Jack Hoagland recorded his second NCAA B standard of the weekend with a mark of 4:21.28 to claim second. Chris Mykkanen earned a time of 4:27.11 in the B final to place 11th.

The B standard marks Hoagland's second of the SMU Classic, earning it in the 400 IM on Friday evening.

200 Breast
Kristaps Mikelsons touched the wall in 2:01.83 to earn sixth, while Angus Corbeau saw a time of 2:01.32 to place 11th competing in the B final.

200 Back
Earning sixth, Jack Berube tallied a time of 1:48.25 in the A final, and Cotton Fields recorded a mark of 1:47.50 in the B final to take 10th.

3-Meter Diving
Freshman Luke Sitz continued a fast start to his collegiate career, claiming his second victory of the weekend with a mark of 377.90 to win the event by just 1.1 points.

The score is an NCAA Zones Cut, and the Prosper, Texas, native has now won his first two events as a Mustang after taking the 1-meter on Friday evening.

100 Free
Chris Mykkanen earned a mark of 45.54 to claim sixth, and in the B final Sage Sungail recorded a time of 43.95 to finish 10th in the event.

200 Fly
Cotton Fields came in fourth with a mark of 1:48.05, while Angus Corbeau placed 10th competing in the B final with a time of 1:53.00.

200 IM
In his second event of the day, Jack Hoagland threw down a time of 1:46.25 to take third. Kristaps Mikelsons earned 11th while competing in the B final with a mark of 1:49.37.

200 Free Relay
During the final event of the Classic, the Mustangs' squad of Sage Sungail, Chris Mykkanen, Kristaps Mikelsons and Russell Exum saw a time of 1:20.85 to place sixth.
