SMU men's golf returns to the Stephens Cup October 21-23, hosted this year by the University of Oklahoma from Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club.
TOURNAMENT:Â The men's field features six teams including the Sooners and Mustangs
. Alongside SMU and OU, Arkansas, Florida State, Oklahoma State and San Diego State round out the field. The tournament features three rounds of stroke play on Monday and Tuesday then a round of match play on Wednesday. The Mustangs placed in third last season with a match play victory over LSU at Trinity Forest Golf Club.

The Mustangs are ranked No. 20 by the Scoreboard Rankings powered by Clippd.
Enrique Dimayuga is ranked No. 10 in the nation individually.
Zachary Kingsland comes in at No. 46 in the rankings. The Mustangs are one of 12 teams with two players ranked in the top 50.

LAST TIME OUT
The Mustangs placed in third in their home event, the Trinity Forest Invitational, finishing four strokes behind first place UNLV.
Zachary Kingsland won the individual portion of the tournament with a 14-under score. Kingsland won the tournament by a two-stroke margin.

ZACHARY KINGSLAND
Kingsland has a 69.33 scoring average through three events in the new season. Last time out, Kingsland won his first career tournament title. He shot 14-under at the Trinity Forest Invitational to win by two strokes. He finished in the top 20 at the Valero Texas Collegiate carding a 65 in the middle round. He posted a t-14
th place finish at the Inverness Intercollegiate highlighted by a 66 in round one. In 2023-24, the sophomore led the team with a 70.90 scoring average, the seventh lowest in program history. He has shot par or better in 22 of 39 rounds to lead the team. The then sophomore finished in the top half of the field at the NCAA Championship. Kingsland finished in 18
th at the NCAA Regional. Kingsland finished in eighth at the AAC Championship. He earned all-conference for his season performance. The sophomore finished in tenth at the Thunderbird Collegiate, shooting below par in each round. Kingsland finished in the top third of the field with a t-22
nd place showing at the Pauma Valley Invitational. Kingsland finished in a tie for sixth at the Wake Forest Invitational. The sophomore shot a 68 in his final round to move up the leaderboard. In his second appearance of the spring, the sophomore finished in the top half of the field at the Prestige. Kingsland finished in a tie for 12
th at the Fallen Oak Invitational. Zach carded 71 and 70 in the final two rounds. In his first appearance of 2023-24, Kingsland led the Mustangs with a 16 under performance. The sophomore shot four-under or better in every round with a low of 65. He finished in fourth place. Kingsland finished 10-under, good for 10
th place at the Stephens Cup. He posted a middle round of 64. In match play, Kingsland won his match, 5&4.

WILL SIDES
Sides has a 70.56 scoring average with six rounds of par or better and three rounds in the 60s. Sides finished in a tie for sixth at the Trinity Forest Invitational with a 10-under score. He shot 66 in the middle round. He led the team with a T-11
th place finish at the Valero Texas Collegiate carding a 68 on the final day to move up 20 spots. Sides carded a 69 in the final round of the first event of the season in 2024-25. Sides averaged 71.31 in 13 tournaments in 2023-24.  He finished second on the team with 21 rounds of par or better and tied for first with 14 rounds in the 60s. Sides finished in 82
nd of 185 at the NCAA Championship and 36
th of 82 at the NCAA Regional. Sides earned All-Conference status for the second straight year. The sophomore led the Mustangs with a third-place finish at the AAC Championship. He shot a 67 in the middle round and finished at four-under par. Sides co-led the team with a 22
nd place finish at Pauma Valley. The sophomore shot a 69 in the final round. Sides finished in 14
th at the Louisiana Classics posting a 68 in the middle round. Sides led the team with a 17
th-place finish at the Prestige. He carded a round of 66 on the final day. The sophomore finished in the top third of the field at the Arizona NIT. The Tulsa native led the team at the Cal Poly Invite with a 21
st finish.  He shot a season's best 66 in round two. Sides finished in 24
th at four under at the Stephens Cup before tying his match play showdown. In his first appearance of 2023-24, he finished in 18
th at the Maui Jim Intercollegiate. He carded a round in the 60s on each day with a low of 67.

ENRIQUE DIMAYUGA
Dimayuga leads the team with a 69.00 scoring average, 1.50 below par. Dimayuga finished in the top 20 in his latest start. He led the Mustangs in his first event at SMU. He finished in second place with rounds of 64 in the first and last round at the Inverness Intercollegiate. Dimayuga spent the last season at University of Nevada. He competed in eight events, earning four top-three finishes. Enrique was Named First Team All-Mountain West and became the first golfer in program history to win consecutive titles. These three straight titles included securing first-place finishes at the UCSB Gaucho Invitational, El Macero Classic, and the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate.  This matched the third best single round score in program history by carding a 64 (-8) in the final round of the El Macero Classic. It also matched the eight best 54-hole score in program history after posting a sensational 204 (-12) to win the UCSB Gaucho Invitational by two strokes. Enrique became the first golfer in program history to win back-to-back titles after winning the El Macero Classic less than a week after winning the UCSB Gaucho Invitational. He proceeded to secure his third consecutive title with another victory at the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate. Enrique then qualified for the NCAA Stanford Regional as an individual where he finished tied for 14th with a 54-hole score of 206 (68-71-67).Â
MATTHEW FOSTER
Matthew Foster saw his first action of  2024-25 during the Trinity Forest Invitational. He finished in 26
th with rounds of 70 and 69 the first two days. Foster competed 12 times during his first year on the Hilltop (2023-24). He finished with a 72.61 scoring average during his freshman campaign with one tournament victory. Foster finished in a tie for 28
th at the NCAA Regional to help the Mustangs advance. Foster finished in the top half of the field with a 34
th place showing at Pauma Valley. Foster shot a 68 in the middle round of the Louisiana Classics. In his second career start, Foster won the Fallen Oak Invitational with a score of eight under par. He shot rounds of 69, 71, 68 to dominate the tournament. Foster finished in a tie for 15
th at the Stephens Cup with an eight-under score. The freshman won his match play meeting on the final hole.

J. HOLLAND HUMPHRIES
Humphries has a 72.56 scoring average through three events. Humphries finished in 31
st at the Trinity Forest Invitational, carding a 68 in round one. He finished in 50
th at the first event of the fall season. He carded a 70 in round two. He averaged 71.67 in 2023-24, good for 0.44 above par on average. Humphries had 17 rounds of par or better this season. Humphries helped the Mustangs advance past the NCAA Regional with a T-28
th performance. Humphries finished in eighth at the AAC Championship shooting par or better in each round. Humphries finished in 19
th at the Thunderbird Collegiate. The redshirt sophomore finished in 14
th at the Louisiana Classics, shooting 70 in the final round to move up the leaderboard. Humphries finished in a tie for 13
th at the Wake Forest Invitational shooting 72 or better in every round. The third-year standout finished in 28
th with three rounds coming with one of par or better at the Cal Poly Invitational. At the Fallen Oak Invitational, Humphries finished at six under good for 17
th place. At the Stephens Cup, the Austin native came back from down one with two holes to play to win his match, 1 up. He started his 2023-24 season with a t-29
th performance at the Maui Jim Intercollegiate.

LAST SEASON
The Mustangs are coming off a strong 2023-24 season where they advanced to the NCAA Championship. The team finished second at the AAC Championship, their sixth straight top three finish at conference. The Mustangs then finished in fourth at the NCAA Regional, securing a bid to the NCAA Championship, their first since 2021. They finished in 27

HASKINS AWARD WATCH LIST
JuniorÂ
Will Sides earned a place on the Haskins Award Preseason Watch List. This award is given annually to the top male US collegiate golfer as voted on by college golfers, coaches and members of the golf media. Past winners of the Haskins Award presented by Stifel have captured 33 major championships and more than 400 professional tournaments around the world. Named in honor of Fred Haskins, the award is managed by the Haskins Foundation to acknowledge the top male golfer at the end of the season and to match the ANNIKA Award presented by Stifel, which acknowledges the top female Division I collegiate golfer.

SUMMER 2024
Enrique Dimayuga won the Singapore Open with a four-stroke victory. The new Mustang followed that up with an individual title at the Southeast Asian Amateur Team Championship.Â
Will Sides advanced to the finals of the TMGA Amateur Championship. Sides also was a quarterfinalist at the Western Amateur.Â
Aaron Jarvis earned a bid to the US Amateur Championship in July at Hazeltine.
