DALLAS, Texas (SMU) -- The Mustangs will compete at the South Central Region Championships tomorrow morning for a chance to race at the NCAA Championships.Â
The top two teams out of the 32 within the region will receive an automatic bid to Nationals. The regional championship will take place at Texas A&M's Dale Watts Cross Country Course – a course the Mustangs are familiar with, having already raced there twice this season.Â
"Our sights are set on being an automatic qualifying team, top-2," Head Coach A'Havahla Haynes said. "The women are healthy, training well and aware of the challenge presented Friday in College Station."Â
The Mustangs have been ranked as high as second in the region this season, following a win on this very course at the Texas A&M Invitational where they beat both SEC and Big 12 programs as well as other teams within the South Central region.Â
The women will race the 6k course at 9 a.m. Â
