Box Score | Final Game Book
DENTON, Texas (SMU) – The SMU women's basketball program cruised past Chicago State 73-52 on Friday inside the Super Pit in the team's final game of the Evan Moore Classic.

Playing in its second game in back-to-back days, SMU was in complete control right from the start. The Mustangs led by more than double digits for the majority of the game and dominated the glass recording a season-high 53 rebounds. SMU had 20 offensive rebounds compared to CSU's five, marking the fifth time this season the team has had 20 or more offensive rebounds.

The production on the glass allowed numerous second-chance opportunities as SMU led in second-chance points 17-4. SMU had multiple big scoring runs throughout the game and pushed the lead to as much as 30 late in the fourth. The Mustangs scored 44 points in the first half and only allowed 21 to CSU. SMU outscored the Cougars 38-26 in the paint.

Friday's victory not only extended SMU's win streak to three but marked the team's first neutral site win since defeating Gardner-Webb (84-71) on Dec. 3, 2022, as part of the Raising the B.A.R. Invitational in Berkley, Calif.

Center Jessica Peterson, forward Chantae Embry and guard Nya Robertson all scored over 15 points in the game. It marked the first time this season SMU had three players score 15 or more points.

After recording 13 points and 19 rebounds in Thursday's game, Peterson followed it up with an equally as impressive performance against Chicago State, scoring 15 points and collecting 16 rebounds. It marked her third double-double in a row and her seventh of the season. The star center had nine points and 10 boards at the end of the first.

Peterson is the first Mustang to record 15 or more rebounds in back-to-back games since Alica Froling did during the 2015-26 season.

Embery was 6-10 from the floor and finished with 16 points and five rebounds. She also went 3-of-3 from the foul line and is a perfect 12-12 from the stripe over her last four games.

Robertson knocked down three from behind the arc, and she was tied with Embry for the team that was high in points with 16. She scored 12 in the first half, helping SMU jump out to its early lead. Roberston has scored in double figures in every game this season.

Freshman Kayanna Cox appeared in her second game of the season and scored a career-high six points and recorded four boards. Guard Zanai Jones finished her night with eight points

SMU has now won three games in a row and six of their last eight as the team improved to 8-5 (0-1 ACC) overall, while Chicago State fell to 0-14 (0-0 NEC).
