SMU announced the addition of Freya Lily Weiser to the 2024-25 incoming freshman class. Weiser hails from Henley on Thames, Oxforshire, England where she rowed at Henley Rowing Club.

What is your favorite rowing memory?
- Rowing 36km from Henley to Pangbourne passing through the locks.
Why did you choose to row for SMU?
- I liked the team atmosphere, the lake and the coaching style.
What stuck out to you about the team in your decision-making process that made the decision feel right?
- The team atmosphere, I felt it was supportive and friendly!
What did you love about Dallas when you visited?
-I loved the weather and rowing in the sun. I loved the city, and how it is so close to the university.
What was something about SMU/Dallas that surprised you?
-How close and accessible the sports and leisure facilities are to each other.
What impact do you plan to make in your first year?
- To show my dedication and determination in rowing and in my studies.
What are you most excited about for your freshman year?
- Learning with the different schooling system, by taking multiple courses and subjects.
What are you looking forward to doing most when you get to Dallas?
- Learning to row with and meeting my new teammates.

-WJ17 Top Quad at Henley Royal Regatta Diamond Jubilee - Semi finalists Top Quad at Henley Women's Regatta - Semi finalists Fours Head Quad - Gold plus course record National Schools - Bronze in Quad WEHORR - Eights Silver (we actually finished in Gold position but incurred a 10" penalty) SHORR - Eights Silver Oarsport Scullery - Quad Bronze WJ16 Henley Royal Regatta (racing up in WJ18) Quad - Quarter finalists Henley Women's Regatta (racing up in WJ18) - Semi Finalists National Schools Quad - Gold (breaking course record) Britain Vs France International - Quad Gold British Championships - Quad Gold Oarsport Scullery- Gold
